The RK ranch is easy to work in generally level terrain with rolling hills. The ranch is 1-3 miles wide, east to west, by 5 miles north to south. There are four main pastures with a smaller trap that create easy pasture rotation to maximize use of available grasses and browse. The boundary of the ranch is fenced with a good exterior fence.   

The topography of the ranch is generally flat with gently rolling hills. The deeded land and headquarters are at about 4,900’ in elevation.  

Vegetation is a mix of shrubs and grasses. A portion of the forage base of the allotment is provided by desirable browse species including turbinella oak, mountain mahogany, deerbrush and skunkbush. Perennial grasses are abundant and forage grasses include blue grama, sideoats grama, threeawns, sand dropseed and squirreltail.

Carrying Capacity & Acreage: The RK Ranch is a 45 head ranch encompassing 110± deeded acres  and a 6,626 acres USFS Lease totalling  6,736 ± total grazing acres.  

Building Improvements: The headquarters sits on approximately 65 deeded acres with a good producing domestic well. Power is supplied by a new 32 panel solar system with a 500 AMP battery storage. The solar system is enclosed in a 18’ x 18’ log cabin structure that also houses tack and other items for storage.

Another well is a windmill and solar pump.  There is a well with a solar submersible pump at the headquarters with a 1,000 gallon storage tank. 

Climate: In Prescott, Arizona you enjoy four seasons of weather with mild climate year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from highs in the 80’s in summer and lows in the low 20’s  in the winter. The annual average precipitation is between 13-15 inches.
